Zoops' Hoops!

It was a very special day in the land of
Zoops
All the children were lined up with their
Hula Hoops!
Bobby, Elana, Sammy and Heather
Too
Around their waists, spinning were
Hoops of all hues!
A long year of practice had come to an
End
The children of Zoops, some of whom were
Best friends
All coming together on this special day
To show what they’ve practiced during Hula Hoop
Play!
Heather was first to show off her skill
Circling her waist, the hoop soon stood still
Elena came second, hoops around legs, arms and
Neck
Showing her talent to all, what the heck!
Bobby learned hooping through his readings on the
Greeks
He learned through history, Hooping’s not for Geeks!
Sammy learned many hula hoop tricks
Like rolling the big hoop, sometimes he rolled
Six!
All of the hoops that Sammy had rolled
Came back to Sammy, or so we were
Told!
Four more of the girls in Miss Zoeys’ class
Learned to do hooping while holding a
Glass!
And then there was Bertram, who surely did
Care
That his hula hoop was special, as it was in the shape of a
Square!
Try hooping around your tummy, should you
Dare!
With a hula hoop that was actually
Square!
All of the children who practiced all
Year
Got a chance to show off with their hula hoop
Gear!
After all, it was World Hula Hoop Day
And the children of Zoops knew they needed to
Play!
World Hula Hoop Day meant the winner would
Give

Hula Hoop lessons to others who
Live
In a faraway land, where there is no
Place
For a kid to learn hooping and always feel
Safe!
So the children of Zoop, who practiced hard all
Year
Gave up all their time, so that others could
Cheer
So Sammy, Bobby and Elena all tried their best
At hooping they spun and they spun with such zest
Miss Zoey looked on, judging each spin and trick
A winner for World Hoop Day would be no easy
Pick
So who do you think the winner will be?
Sammy or Bobby, Elena or me?
Miss Zoey decided spinning a hoop that was
Square
Was best deserved to be the winner, as Square Hula Hoops are
