The Little Sniffing Toe Monster

by Pamela Schad Hall
(Bonifay, Florida / USA)

Long ago in a small country village called Giggles there was heard tale of a creature only small children could see.

The children of the village called this tiny creature, "The Sniffing Toe Monster". He was very, very small all except for his big furry nose!

At night time when it was time for all little ones to be snug in their beds the sniffing toe monster emerges very quietly and any little ones whose toes are not tucked in to bed the sniffing toe monster will sneak up and start to sniff and tickle each toe with their big, furry nose until they hop right back into their beds.

If you try and stay up and run from this creature he will find you and tickle you even more on the toes. Parents who hear these giggles and little feet scurrying here and there know then someones not in their bed and go in to see what is all the giggles about. And as always, the blame falls to the little creature, with the big nose, the sniffing toe monster for tickling their toes and causing the outbursts.

No parent has seen these little furry creatures with the big nose but there are tales that still surface further out from this village even today of sightings of this little sneaky creature. So when we hear giggles in the night after the lights are turned down guess we can say it is most likely that little creature from the village of Giggles, called "The Sniffing Toe Monster" telling us someones not tucked away in their beds like good little ones are suppose to be!

So lets get into our beds and keep that little tickling, sniffing toe monster away from those toes!

Night, Night.

I like this story VERY much. I have grandchildren that I tuck into bed and at times I might tell them about the "The Little Sniffing Toe Monster" to encourage them to get into their beds and stay there. Well done!
