Moonlight dancers

by Karlee Pyne
(Lawton Oklahoma)

One day I peered through my window

On the field below

There were people standing there

In the midnight glow

I watched in awe as they danced so gracefully that night

They leaped and twirled around the world and seemed to take flight

Beautiful I thought they were, amazing is what I breathed

Also though as I thought their dancing ceased

They fluttered to the ground as they did I saw,

The moonlight wrap them up, and suddenly they're gone

I looked up at the twinkling stars, they seemed to say good night

I sighed, as I remembered the dancers in their soft moonlight.
